An uplifting story with wonderful characters and life lessons.

I just reread this with Anna for a mother/daughter book group. It is a great one for parents and children alike. At our book group, we did an activity with Venn diagrams, showing how even the characters who seem the most different still have a lot in common. India Opal's experience in a new town shows how loneliness and understanding can help draw even the most disparate people together.
