really liked it

After reading The Book of Negroes, I was anxious to read another Lawrence Hill book. And this one didn't disappoint. I love how he is able to go back and forth through time, and through multiple generations, so ably. I was never confused or lost, and actually quite intrigued with this family history. I will also admit to enjoying whenever I recognized a street or neighbourhood described in a book. That doesn't happen often to this Ontario girl.
