Now I know why I hesitated buying this book even though I've enjoyed Dohner's other works. I must have figured out from the blurb and excerpt how unexciting this story would be. The hero and heroine's relationship lacked chemistry, she decides she loves him really quickly (after she reluctantly has sex with him - he wins her in a fight and she's now his sex toy), the characters themselves were just meh, the worldbuilding was minimal. I don't even care for any of the potential main characters for the other books of this series.

Basically, I'm glad I got this as a free read and I'm going to give this Dohner series a pass.
