I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one felt muddled. The focus was split between Vic's apprehensions over getting a place with Jacob and the missing persons case they're working. In the previous books, this dual focus got equal screen time and played together really well. In this book the case was almost an afterthought to all Vic's domestic worrying. When the case itself was resolved it wasn't satisfying or explained very well.

I still enjoy the premise and will read other books in this series and by this author.
