I wanted this book to be better than it was. There were times when I felt like I was reading a harlequin romance, and I don't read harlequin romances. This author is a very good writer, which is why I kept reading the book. I enjoyed the descriptions of Wales in the 1100s and what life may have been like in a castle. I wish the author had kept more with the history and less with the romance.

The end also felt like an episode of scooby do. Without going into too much detail, the wronged person spent a long time telling us in great detail why they did and felt what they did. This felt contrived, especially when we see what his next actions were. I had a hard time figuring out how many stars to give this book. I was generous because I did like the writing style.
