Mea culpa! I accidentally read the books out of order. I skipped Alien Proliferation and rad this one first. I was really lost as a result. Last I read, Kitty was pregnant now she has a baby and several couples have married. There were reference to Paris which I did not understand. I finally checked and realized that Alien Proliferation isn't in my library which means I was out of order in my reading. I had a choice: quit or continue reading. I chose to continue reading. (Alien Proliferation is on hold at Barnes and Noble right now.)

Even though I enjoyed the book and I enjoyed the setting (Washington, DC, a city I visited recently so I was familiar with somewhat (although I never made it over to embassy row)). I'm tired, though, of the banter (which isn't nearly so cute now that Kitty is a mother). It just feels really immature for a woman who is supposed to be married with a baby and a diplomat. Kitty isn't growing up much. It's as if a person can't grow up and change and still remain true to themselves and interesting.

That being said, ACE is still fun. Jamie is adorable. Jeff is endlessly patient. Chuck needs to find a new love-of-his-life. Etc.
