Read from June 11 to August 15, 2012

Hilariously enough the only truly Canadian war was the War of 1812 (fought together on Canadian soil by Native Canadians and British-Canadians), and it was merely mentioned in passing in the preface in a couple of sentences. All other wars Canada embarked on as an ally and not really for her own sake.

WARNING the contents of this book are pure propaganda - you may find yourself enlisting by page 2. I was shocked at how "pro-Canadian" this book was; I think it actually went too far with national pride and was embarrassing!

All that said, Canada's Wars did provide a very brief overview of most of the wars that Canada participated in - and a very extensive overview of WWII (it was probably half of the book). Overall it was a good read, but it was very unbalanced in scope.
