I received this book free through Goodreads First Reads. The story spans 20 years and follows the lives of two cousins and their families. One summer, an act of violence takes place and the family secrets start to emerge - everything and everyone is not what they seem. The story is told from the point of view of five of the main characters. There is a dark undertone throughout the book and I found it hard to put down as I was so anxious to get to the end and figure out the puzzle. It’s one of those books that keep you thinking after you’ve finished it…not sure if you’ve really ‘figured it out’ after learning the five perspectives. Definitely a great read for book clubs.
