The Boy Kings of Texas: A Memoir by Domingo Martinez Thank you Goodreads for picking my name for this book. Sometimes you have a wonderful dream that you don't want to end. This book was like that. It was so well written and interesting that it shouldn't end. All stories do end though. Domingo painted a picture of he and his family . He thought he was white, but his brother said no. He was a Mexican. He said "Roads in Texas are good for putting distance between bad memories". I learned things about myself from this book and why I choose to read certain books. The children were often bartered like cattle. Domingo always wanted to be away from Brownsville, Tx. and Seattle was far away with a new culture where most of the people had no prejudices. Writing is his forte, and he continues to do so in Seattle.
