Although I did like the story, towards the middle it bogged a bit with extra characters that I thought might have something to do with the ending - but turned out to be filler - mostly scenes pertaining to the writer and the photographer, which for the writer at this historical house turned retreat - grew to be tedious as he struggled to write his magnum opus. Each character in the story is effected by their environment, based on their artistic tendencies - and I like how this was used to fuel the "evil" which haunted the retreat. I enjoyed the "twist" ending -and over all like the writing style. Spooky but not scary, at least for me!
