Whoa. This is a hard to put down surprise. And cleverly written as it alternates between husband Nick (in the present day) and missing wife Amy (in flashbacks from her diary). There are many twists and turns and it's hard to know who to root for (and then there is the guilt when you feel yourself rooting for the not-so-good person--or who you think isn't good). And as for the CRAZY ending, by the time it got there I was pretty much nodding that, "Yep. That's the way it's gotta be!"

I didn't love the way the language became progressively worse. Not only because I don't love reading all the bad language, but because it didn't ring true. I just don't picture people truly speaking to each other like that.
