Two words: Melancholy and awesome. The book tells you right off that it doesn't end with a happy ending. Now, I love my happy endings. To make me give a high rating, the book's got to be pretty incredible for me to overlook a sad or neutral ending. This book does it, though. I think what impressed me most was her reconstruction of Neverland and its inhabitants. I might even say that I like this book better than the original Peter Pan, but it's been a while since I read it so I'm not 100% on that. Tiger Lily was such an interesting character and I loved the way Tinker Bell was an omnipresent narrator within the story itself. Like I said, this story does not have a traditional "happy ending", but that's ok. There's really no other way this story could have ended.
