The title of this book seems a bit misleading but the contents are often interesting. I expected more of a philosophical meditation on the meaning of work in people's lives. There is some of that, but de Botton's observations and reflections are wide-ranging. He examines things that most people ignore and reflects on them in erudite, elegant prose.
