This book was really aggravating. As you have probably heard, the writing is annoyingly basic and in desperate need of an editor. Unfortunately the "guilty pleasure" storyline doesn't make up for it. Ana is really lacking in character development. Her innocence at 22, friendship with Kate and unawareness of her body are all hard to understand. The sex is titillating enough, but not as shocking as I was expecting and her reaction to it is frustrating. That girls needs to sit down and listen to some Dan Savage immediately. I don't expect to read the other books in the series. I may read a summary to find out what happens to Christian, who has a more interesting character and backstory at least.

One more note on this book and then I will go back to enjoying something good, I feel like many of Ana's problems would be solved if she just listened to Savage Love. So if there are girls as innocent as her out there, get online and start getting to know Dan Savage. He will become an integral part of your life within the first episode.
