This novel was about a boy named alfred brooks who is a high school drop out  , he lives with his aunt and has a dream. his dream is that he wants to learn how to box but he thinks that he wont make it , knowing that he's a high school drop out & that he might not get no where. he's also   been having trouble with his friends because they are a bad influence to him, they most likely peer pressure  him on stealing a grocery store and doing bad things , but along this novel he has a best friend named james who was a great guy to Alfred but later on he started leading into a drug addiction and was doing bad in life. I recommend this book to all the people, especially teenagers who think that their life is over by dropping out education or think that they will never reach their goal. Everyone can reach their goal as long as they put effort to what they want to do and show what you really want. Nothing is hard in Life if you don't experience and work hard to get what you want.
