I liked this very much. The author's insights into a young girl's psyche were remarkable. Can we recall the pain, the joy, the fear, that we felt at 13 or 14 years of age? Ms. Lamont gives a very realistic picture of it. The story wraps up a bit too neatly, but other than that, it was a convincing look into the lives of a family who suffers tragedy and addiction and then tries to move on. The picture of the moving on seems more real than many others I've read. I give credit to Ms. Lamont for that, too.
