it was amazing

A great book. Julie and Michael grow up in small town where everyone knows how messed up their families are. Sticking with each other, they make the move to DC where Michael quickly becomes rich and before Julie knows it, they are not those sweet innocent kids anymore.
Suddenly Michael decides to change direction in his life leaving Julie to wonder if she can follow suit.
I could not stop reading this book. It seemed to be straight forward, but there was so much to these characters. Flashbacks and well placed back stories make them the richest characters I have read in a while. I got so invested in their lives.
The Kindle edition has a LOT of extras so it was a false read on my percentage done with the book. So when I reached the final chapters of the book, I was praying for more. It was over too soon for me even though the story had a great ending. Will definitely pick up more of Pekkanen's work.
