I can always enjoy a good story about an English maid. Of course, we've romanticized the poor things so much, it's ridiculous; I, for one, carry this vague notion that I would love to be one, but I'm sure in reality I would loathe it. I enjoyed the book, though. But I don't think it quite measured up to what it promised.

-I enjoyed most of the characters.
-It had a nice "day-to-day" feel to the passage of time that seemed realistic
-I learned things about Victorian servents and their heirarchy of command
-It was good enough to make me keep reading until the end

-It was kind of slow-moving
-Certain things were predictable
-How is this "Christian fiction"? The main characters mumbled short prayers every few chapters when they had a serious problems, but that was it. (view spoiler)
