Slothlike in its nature, but thoroughly compelling when considering how Americans influenced Paris and vice versa. I particularly liked Ch. 4 where medicine is presented as an art, which it was considered at that time. I'm not sure that category should have so changed. The research and command of the material necessary to produce this work is startling. If you are in the mood for a big smorgasbord, loosen your reader belt and dig in.
