This is a simply written chapter book about a little girl named Heidi. I picked it up today because my sister's name is Heidi and it has an appealing cover. I'll be interested to see if my niece likes it... The story is pretty good... Heidi wants to have a stand out cookie recipe for the cookie contest but gets sidetracked by the mean girl in her class. It had a nice message about keeping it simple and doing things well, even if it doesn't seem spectacular. It would have been nice if they had included some of the recipes they mention in the story, because I can picture some kids thinking that would be fun.
