really liked it
bookshelves: lit

One of the "problem plays." A tough one to interpret in many ways - the Duke's motivations are hard to pin down, Isabel is a cold model of morality and says nothing at the end, and certainly condemning someone for lust by today's standards seems extreme. Who do we sympathize with? Who, indeed?
