I love Haruki Murakami. This was maybe the least "magical" books of his that I've read but there are some of his more trademark surreal moments in there that are ripe with symbolism. The dialogue is fantastic. His treatment of his characters is so delicate but never precious and he has a lovely way of tackling philosophical questions without obviously leading readers to a direct conclusion (cough!coehlo!cough!).

Jean-Pierre So which book of his is your favorite?

Emily So far...Kafka on the Shore. But he's written a lot of books and I've only read 3! I'm looking forward to reading more by him.
