This was my first encounter with Flash Fiction (i.e. VERY short stories) and it was a revelation. Lots of stories of just 75 words, mostly with a twist at the end, across a wide range of subjects, settings and characters. I picked it up at bedtime thinking, oh a few of these will be enough before I go to sleep, and ended up reading the lot - couldn't put it down. The choice of words has to be so careful with such a tiny range - it's like Twitter's answer to short stories - but the author chooses them with poetic care, and sometimes it was almost like reading ancient, alliterative Norse literature (sorry if that sounds pretentious, but when we dipped into it at uni, it made a big impression on me!)She deserves a nicer cover design than this to do her justice as a serious writer who is well worth reading!
