Ten years after the end of the Voodoo Wars between the vampires and the humans Raven Blaise, called Sunshine, heads out to the lake to escape from the stress of her job and her family. She is captured by a group of vampires and presented as a test and a meal to another captive. Barely managing to escape by calling on the powers inherited from her powerful sorceror father, Sunshine tries to return to her normal way of life as best she can, but she finds herself more and more bound to a vampire.
I don't like the sex scene. I don't know...I find some of the language very jarring, not hot.
This book is quite slow, not like the others. I'm not entirely certain whether I liked this or not. I don't think I like the character of Sunshine. She spends so much of her time denying what she can do, what she is doing, hiding from herself. Constantine is so utterly impassive and reserved that he's a difficult charact...more
