I got Unholy Ghosts in a second hand book store. They do four for a tenner and I already had three, unable to find a decent-sounding fourth, when I saw this wedged on top of the other books. I am so glad I did.

I loved how Chess was so far from perfect. I mean, she's a drug addict, which isn't exactly a common trait among main characters. A tattooed, drug-addicted witch. So much better than a squeaky clean little miss perfect.

The love interests were both intriguing, but I couldn't really tell you which I prefer. Initially I thought Lex but towards the end I really started liking Terrible, so we shall see. It was good though, that the romance element didn't completely take over the story.

I have to say that the bad guy was genuinely creepy and I was not convinced that Chess would be able to beat him in the end. That is what makes this book so good - the characters, including the good guys, make mistakes. Just like in real life.
