The book was easy to read but clearly the author's life wasn't easy. Like any teenager she had her moments of rebellion. Moments of wanting to do what she wants and not really caring about other people's feeling even if it means hurting her parents in the process. Times when she thought she was doing the right thing but was just the opposite. Yet with those experiences she had, good or no matter how bad shaped her to what she is now. I believe that it's not your family background who shapes you, it is how you perceive life and how you keep going no matter how hard the challenges may be. And I think, that is just how Shoko Tendo did.
