"I'm a slow walker, but I never walk back." - Abraham Lincoln. "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" - Mary Oliver. This is Oprah's new Book Club 2.0 pick, so of course, I had to see what it was all about! It was interesting that I read the memoir about Jeff Alt walking the Appalachian Trail right before reading this one, which is a memoir about Cheryl Strayed, who walked the Pacific Crest Trail. I liked the similarities between the two experiences, but Strayed's memoir was so much more. The e-reader version is cool because it has Oprah's highlights and notes included. This would be a great book club book because there is a TON to talk about - similar to Eat, Pray, Love. This book made me feel slightly achy in places because of the things she did to herself, and there was once on the trail when I wanted to yell at her. However, the ending was awesome, and she ended up exactly in the place - figuratively and literally - that I wanted her to be.
