it was amazing

I am ashamed to say that it took me so long to finally read this book. It is wonderfully written and the characters are so mesmerizing that I don't know why it didn't suck me in completely from the onset. Maybe I have read too many books about WWII? It does start off a little slow, setting up Liesel and the Hubermanns. The book is also a bit long, or at least it has many pages. There are many paragraph breaks and the chapters are quite short so it seems longer than it really is. Once you get about 200 pages in though, everything seems to come together. I finished the last 200 pages or so in just a quick couple of days (and I am usually not one to read more than 20-30 pages a day). There are tons of emotions in this book so be prepared for some ups and downs. Totally worth it though!
