Charli ღ Denae I know the contract marriage has been done to death but I really loved this book! The characters are exceptionally endearing, especially the heroine, Alexa. She's sweet, honest and feisty, and she loves animals and kids. Nick, on the other hand, is the classic 'hurt-by-the-lack-of-parental-love' hero. He won't ever fall in love or father any kids because he won't do to them what his parents did to him and his sister. He's very likable, though, not the usual hard-as-stone hero of these type of novels. He tells Alexa right up front how he feels but doesn't treat her like crap and actually works to be her friend.
I also really liked that the hero and heroine knew each other as kids, and that Nick's sister is Alexa's best friend. He, of course, was her first love/kiss, which I thought was extra romantic, and he even hung out at her house some. Her parents are a big part of their ending and I just loved that familial touch.
Very hot, emotional, feel-good story.
