In this interpretation of Beauty and the Beast we have Isabella riding through many hazards to meet Nicolai to plead for her brother's life. Nicolai agrees to help her in exchange for Isabella marrying him. Isabella agrees to do anything to help her brother but quickly finds out that the rumours about Nicolai are based in fact. Nicolai knows there is danger in loving anyone and tries to send Isabella away but he is unable to let her go. Somehow Isabella must break the curse that is not only ruining Nicolai's life but the entire valleys.

It is very gothic and melodramatic. It does try the patience a lot and found myself mentally screaming "Make up your bloody mind!" However it is strangely compelling and I had to find out how it all ended. The climax was rather disappointing.
