I really enjoy that authors are putting out novellas and short stories that tease your interest in their future novels. Jennifer Weiner is one of my all time favorite authors. Her novel GOOD IN BED, is really what pulled me back into reading so many years ago. Ruth, the main character in SWIM, is somebody that I could easily relate to. Her struggles to find her place and to do what she loves has been derailed by choices she made and by other choices she did not make. Ruth attempts to swim away her sadness and dissatisfaction, only to find that her job, used to fill her time, showed her surface appearance may not be the full story and other people have a back-story too.

I loved this story (4 stars) and I cannot wait to get my hands on THE NEXT BEST THING due out July 3rd.
