This was a very surprising and well written story. I could not put this book down. I finished it in one evening! On the contrary to my own experiences, I learned that traveling can be a very lonely and terrifying experience. You have to read it believe it! I wonder if there was a ever a movie based on this novel? If not, it certainly should be.

I finally had a chance to see the movie based on this book. It was interesting but disappointing in comparison to the book. It failed to convey the atmosphere of suspense so well crafted in the book. The dialogs although true to the text seemed staged. Christopher Walken was great in Robert's role even though I pictured Robert differently.

88610 There actually is a movie based on this novel. The movie has the same title and stars Rupert Everett as Colin, Natasha Richardson as Mary, CHRISTOPHER WALKEN as Robert (!!!!) and Helen Mirren as Caroline. I haven't seen the movie yet but after I finished the novel I am quite anxious to see the movie. I hear Christopher Walken does a superb job.

177827 Thanks for that information. I am looking forward to see it. Christopher Walken seems to be a perfect choice to play Robert.
