This is one book I just could not relate to. I spent nearly all of the book thinking that somewhere I'd gone horribly wrong. People have told me this book is hilariously funny and very clever, but apart from two small laughs (which basically equated to a rush of breath between my teeth) I didn't find it humorous at all. The last 3 chapters were an improvement on the rest and although I didn't completely agree with what Moran said about abortion, I did completely respect it and wish that more people were able to speak freely as she did about such a personal topic. I just wish she wouldn't belittle people who feel differently from her, but she'd done that throughout the book so why change there?

I'd expected so much from this book and maybe that's where I went wrong, but I'm baffled that I so completely missed what so many others thought was funny and provocative.
