This book is frightening. I think the intended reading from Nietzsche is some sort of prophylactic strike against the emergent historical materialist trend which (arguably) Nietzsche saw around him leading up to his death. In a way, it's Nietzsche trying to kill Marx before he was ever born.

Eric Phetteplace but Marx had already published most of his work by the time Nietzsche wrote this; Das Kapital was published in 1867, seven years prior. Nietzsche engages socialist thought elsewhere--and he definitely doesn't like it--but I don't think that's what this book is about at all, it's definitely aimed more at Hegel (certainly an influence on Marx) than the tenants or historical philosophy of Marxism.
