The first 2/3 or so were great...yes, I thought he was spending an awful long time covering one semester, but I like reading about his studies. I know, I'm a nerd.
The last 300 pages were rough going for me. I was bored. Kvothe's adventures trying to find the bandits and his time with the Adem was brutally slow. Sure there were glimpses into the secrets of the Amyr and the Chandrian, but not nearly enough.
I would have been left with a mighty bad taste in my mouth if it had ended with the Adem. Luckily, the last hundredish pages saved it because Kvothe finally got back to some adventures. (And made it back to 4 stars instead of 3.)
I really want to know what happened to him. I want to know why he's an innkeeper!
