Spoiler alert! This wasn't as fun a read as the others I've read by Andrews. The main character, Keeley, faces the past to discover the truth about why her mother left her and her father when she was a child. All the while the main plot involves her designing a plantation mansion for a would be love interest if he wasn't already in love with another woman and with her dealing with the aftermath of catching her groom with her maid of honor at their rehearsal dinner. There was a lack of humor that Andrews books usually have, and the discovery at the end of the book that her mother was murdered by a drunk lover was too dark for a sideplot. To make it even creepier, her mother's body was hidden by her ex-fiance's father and his mistress when they were too scared to call the cops. They put her in a well, which was on land that was flooded to make a lake which Keeley went swimming in, yuck! In the end, she ends up with the would be love interest who purchases the lake land and they have a memorial for her mother. There is no way I could enjoy a lake when I knew it was my mother's watery grave!!!
