Jasmine and Fire is the humorous and touching story of a woman that is trying to find a place that she feels that she can call home.
Like many families during the war in Lebanon, the author and her family left their homeland for the safety of the States. Now years later Salma Abdelnour leaves New York to live for a year in Lebanon, to see if it is where she belongs. This book is the story of that year.
I won this book in a giveaway and read it with pleasure. I believe that the authors feeling of confusion about her belonging is a common feeling amongst those of us from other lands.
