The 500

This book is taking up space in airport bookstores and the front of actual book store displays. I don't understand why. It purports to be a Grisham type thriller, but it is lazily written, with not an actual character in the bunch. The only thing moving it forward is the plot's own pointless velocity, akin to the kind of summer movie writing that gives summer movies a bad name.
Mike Ford is kind of a con man gone straight. Puts himself through Harvard. Gets a job in a 'lobbying' agency and funds out he has to coerce people, using a lot of his old con man skills. Get it? Washington DC is run by crooks. How original.
Completely mindless, you'll forget the whole thing five seconds after finishing it.
