I "discovered" the English writer, Elizabeth Taylor, when, as a young woman in the 70's, I was going down the alphabet in the library and reading books by authors I'd never heard of. (I found James Gould Cozzens also). I bought this edition of Angel at Three Lives in NY. I like the people Taylor puts in Angel's life, especially the people who care about her despite her not being deserving of them. But Angel is a force to be reckoned with - a writer who fashions her worlds, real and fiction, with no thought to making them true. She lives in a fantasy and she is lucky to have around her people who understand that this is the only way she can survive.
