it was amazing
bookshelves: science-fiction, military-science-fiction

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical going into this one. I picked it up at a second hand store since it kept popping up on my Goodreads Recommendations for Science Fiction even though I'm pretty sure I've never read anything by Jack Campbell before now. I am a convert now though, it's official that this book was awesome. The only thing wrong with it is that it was too short and I have to find the next one!

The Forever War meets Battlestar Galactica. Awesome battles, unique spins on the time dilation effects of battle at massive interstellar distances limited by the speed of light. Think firing missles at something into space based on seeing it, but knowing that the place you "see" it at is where it was six minutes ago because of the time it took for the light to reach you. No other science fiction has brought that level of realizm to the table regarding massive distances in the vastness of space.

Well worth the read for fans of the Space Opera and classic Science Fiction. Hoping the other books don't let me down.
