bookshelves: teen, fiction, coming-of-age

A "young adult" book, but appealing to adults too. An autobiographical "coming of age" story about a teenage boy growing up on a reservation in eastern Washington. When he decides to attend the white high school off the reservation he realizes that he at first feels like he doesn't fit in anywhere - he feels too indian at school and too white on the rez. But he learns to reconcile the various parts of his identity in this heart-breaking but funny story.
