The Reckoning (The Taker, #2)

I was one of the people to receive an advance copy of this book. It is the second in it's trilogy. While not normally my preferred genre, it was a very interesting book.
Imagine being able to live forever. Now imagine that the person who gave you immortal life was a person twisted by the past and that you became their property. This book takes of from the first, with Lanore running to escape from Adair. The book attacks the concepts that people can change and the concept of free will. Lanore struggles to convince herself that she is not like the damaged people Adair has given the curse of immortality over the years while Adair struggles with his newfound humanity. Will Lanore escape from the past that she is forever stuck in?
