I had a hard time putting this book down. Unfortunately, I had to come to work. :(

A great book for Grisham! It's a baseball story that reads like a biography. It's about Calico Joe Castle, a baseball star for a brief time in the summer of 1973, but it's also about Paul Tracey -- an 11-year old boy and his father, Warren, another baseball player.

The story is told from Paul's adult point-of-view as he looks back to the summer where it looked like the Cubs might just win the pennant.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves baseball! I would also recommend this to anyone who likes historical or realistic fiction.

Robin Garson I just finished A Pitch For Justice that I enjoyed very much. It looks at a criminal prosecution against a Phillies pitcher who throws a pitch that hits a batter in the head with fatal results.
