Set in the late 70s after the fall of Saigon, the American government requests permission to take a joint task force into Laos to search for the remains of a POW/MIA, who disappeared years earlier. In addition, they would like Dr. Siri, Laos’ only forensic coroner to accompany them. The Laos government agrees and sends for Dr. Siri.

Dr. Siri refuses at first, then reluctantly agrees upon the condition that he chooses the Laotian team. Dr. Siri decides that this would be the perfect time to give his morgue team a vacation. Things seem to go well until it becomes obvious that this mission is not really about finding a downed military member, but about finding something else that was on board.

As tension builds among the team betrayal and mishaps soon follows. Can Dr. Siri and his team find the remains, determine cause of death and get his friends back home? Or is there a cover-up that will require the team to be silenced? As time progresses, Dr Siri will need the help of every member of the team just to survive. Still can he trust any of the Americans?
