The Survivor
by Gregg Hurwitz
by Gregg Hurwitz
First-reads book. This is definitely not a book easily put down. I started this morning, had to work, then finished the book this evening. The ending is kind of predictable- the good guy taking out the bad guys, but there are a few things about the book that make it stand out. The good guy, Nate, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and Lou Gehrig's disease. I don't know much about ALS, but the PTSD appeared to be right on the money based on what some of my friends have experienced coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan. And then there is the aspect of the good guy dying. It's a very readable book and definitely worth four stars or more.
