Cinder is on hold for me at the library, and I'll be picking it up tonight. So, to get a taste, I went ahead and read this short story prequel.

This is a new and interesting twist on Cinderella, and I just love when I get a chance to be reintroduced to my old fairy tales!

So, Cinder is a girl who's entire family is killed in an accident - the very same accident that causes her to lose a leg and a hand. Operations gave her cyborg replacements, and she can download information into her brain. She's still the same girl, but she has no memory of her life before the surgeries, and has been recently adopted by a family.

But, two weeks after she's adopted, the kindly inventor-dad contracts a deadly virus and leaves her alone with a step-mother who doesn't like her, an older step-sister who resents her, and a younger step-sister who is still naive and innocent enough to just want to play with her.

*steeples fingers together* HMMMMM......
