Lovely and luscious, this is as good as retold fairytales can get. The Romanian forest and its myths and legends was a rich backdrop to a reimagined telling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses and The Frog Prince. The lyrical writing tasted the air of the forest and dazzled my eyes with faerie lanterns. Its characters were strong and lifelike and while I devoured the story I also didn't want it to end; which is the highest praise I can give.
