Attachments is a cute and very funny romance. Lincoln is an IT guy charged with enforcing the company's internal email policy, and starts to get to know Beth and Jennifer through their personal emails. In fact, that's the only way the reader gets to know Beth and Jennifer as well, for the most part - the narration is in alternating chapters from Lincoln's perspective, and then an exchange of emails between Beth and Jennifer. Really, I saw this as a story about Lincoln, about how the small glimpses into Beth and Jennifer's lives affect his, and his somewhat belated growth into maturity and independence. It's a lovely story - Lincoln is a great character, and I really liked the way the different narratives worked - but it's not a book I'm going to keep and re-read - I think I'll pass it on to a friend.
