One of the cool things about Local Food issues is that it really resonates for almost anyone, regardless of their political leanings. This book more than any other I've read so clearly puts into perspective the how and why good intentions to fix many of the nasty byproducts of food producers do more to punish those who are doing actual good than just "following compliance". This is especially directed to those of the political left who are some of the strongest forces for the promotion of Local and Organic food production, yet overlook the abuses of government policy when it comes to applying regulations that were designed for a very different style of farming.
