Home for the Summer: The Chesapeake Diaries (Chesapeake Diaries #5)
by Mariah Stewart
by Mariah Stewart
4.5 stars. The fifth book in Ms. Stewart Chesapeake Diaries series, this is wonderful story of two people who have loved each other for years, as best friends since childhood, but who grew apart as they got older. Lucy Sinclair, event planner extraordinaire, has returned to St. Dennis to meet with Robert Magellan and his fiancee, Susanna Jones (characters from Ms. Stewart's Mercy Street series) for what promises to be a wedding extravaganza that surprises even Lucy. Clay Madison has loved Lucy, and been waiting for her, for twenty years. He hopes that during the time she'll be spending in St. Dennis this summer, he can convince her that she loves him and can't live without him. Their road may be a rocky one, but despite the obstacles in the couple's way, readers will love this story.
